India: SAIL Invites Export Tender for 16,200 MT Billet

Steel Authority of India - a government of India company has floated an export tender for prime mild steel non-alloy concast billets. The tender quantity is reported to be 16,200 MT. The cargo will be shipped from Haldia port. The tender was put up for Prime Mild Steel Non-Alloy Concast billet, size 125*125 mm offered from Durgapur Steel plant.

The material has following specifications - C%: 0.27-0.33, Mn%: 0.80-1.0, S%: 0.05 Max, P%: 0.05 Max, Si%: 0.15-0.30

The said invitation bid service has been activated by SAIL for entry of data at 17:30:00HRS [IST] of 16 Sep'19. The last date for bid submission is 20 Sep'19 by 16:00:00HRS [IST].

Last week, global billet export market was reported trade active. Almost all major markets spectated the trades. However, all trades were reported with price fall. The prime reason for weak trade sentiments is the ongoing price war between CIS nations, India and Iran which is weakening the global billet trade sentiments.

India's Vizag Steel concluded 30,000 MT billet (150*150 mm) export tender last week at around USD 380/MT, FoB India.
