India: SAIL BSP Extends Due Date for Iron Ore Fines E-auction

Govt owned unit - Steel Authority of India had issued tender for sale of 28,000 MT iron ore fines from its Rajhara mines in Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP), Chattisgarh. In recent update received, the company has extended due dates for fines sale to 15th Jan'20 against last due date of 30 Dec'19.
As per company officials, in order to resolve queries related to sales guideline and necessary updates to be made in auction documents, they have extended the due date.
Last week, the company has extended due dates for sale of 10,00,000 MT iron ore fines from its Gua, Kiriburu and Meghahatuburu mines till Jan'20..
In Sept'19, Indian government took a decisive step in assuring supply of raw material to steel sector by allowing Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) to sell 25% of its total annual mineral production in merchant market. This was in order to avoid any kind of possible disruption that may occur because of mining auction due on March 2020.
