RINL ended financial year 2021-22 (FY22) with a record production of 5.77 million tonnes (mnt) of hot metal, 5.27 mnt of crude steel and 5.14 mnt of saleable steel which is the best-ever production, since inception despite facing several stiff challenges ranging from the Covid-19 pandemic to acute global coking coal shortage, the company said in a press release.
RINL registered a sales turnover of INR 28,008 crores in FY22, which is 56% higher than in last fiscal, a record, the company said.
Production highlights:
- Special emphasis on production of export-oriented and value-added steel has been the key highlight for 2021-22.
- RINL also performed well on achieving significant techno-economic factors and, for the first time, achieved annual average PCI (pulverised coal injection) injections of 100 kg/tHM. Specific energy consumption reduced to 6.02 Gcal/tCS during the period.
- During the financial year, 22 new high-end niche products were developed in the six rolling mills of RINL.
Sales highlights:
- On the sales front, RINL achieved a sales turnover of INR 28,008 crore which is 56% over INR 17,956 crore in 2020-2021.
- The company registered best-ever export sales of INR 5,607 crore, a growth of 37% over CPLY.
- The sales volume of 5.2 mnt achieved in 2021-22 also registered an impressive growth of 17% over CPLY.
- The sales turnover of INR 3,501 crore achieved in the month of March, 2022 registered a growth of 6% over CPLY.
