India: Raipur Mini Steel Plants to Resume Operations

Raipur (central India) based majority of mini steel plants (hot rolling mills & standalone mills) have decided to re-commence operational activities from tomorrow or by weekend, as per credible sources report to SteelMint.

A meeting was scheduled today to discuss the matter regarding resumption among few MSP members. It was mutually decided among few participants that steel mills can resume operations as per their capacity utilisation and also adhering to government guidelines to prevent COVID-19.

However, few mills have already turned operational from the last 2-3 days which includes medium and small scale rolling mills & hot rolling mills which include rebar, structure & pipe mills.

Current rebar (12-25mm) trade price is assessed at INR 32,600-32,900/MT EXW Raipur.
