India: Odisha Govt. Reserves RP Sao Mines to OMECL

Ministry of Mines, Govt of India recently notified Odisha Mineral Exploration Corporation Limited (OMECL) as separate legal entity to undertake operations of R P Sao mines (Guali) Iron Ore Block in pursuance of the second proviso to sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957.

OMECL has invited bids from experienced mine operators for hiring of plant & machinery for excavation/raising from iron ore body by required drilling & blasting, transportation of ROM to crushing and/or screening plant to be installed by the Mine Operator, cr specific size of CLO and specific size of Fines, transport of finished product to specified yards after necessary weighment, cleaning of quarry faces, excavation after required drilling and blast disposal of sub-grade, overburden/ incidental waste and associated rejects/ spoils/ spurious materials to the specified yards.

The period of contact is 3 years with peak rated capacity of 49,69,000 MT/annum. Last date of online bid submission is upto 4 pm on 16 Jan'20.

Request For Proposal (RFP) Guali Iron ore Mine

Govt. of Odisha has recommended to the Ministry of Mines, Govt of India informing the decision to reserve the Guali Iron Ore Block, over 365.026 hectares of R P Sao in Guali Keonjhar district, under section 17A(2) of MMDR Act, in favour of M/s OMECL.

RP Sao has an estimated resource of 198.74 MnT and has been recommended for reservation in favour of an eligible state PSU and has an EC limit of 5.7 MnT.
