India: Chhattisgarh Units Reduce Iron Ore Sourcing from NMDC by 30% in Mar'19

According to railway movement data maintained with SteelMint, India's largest iron ore miner NMDC supplied 48 rakes to state based units, down 30% against 69 rakes a month before. Perhaps drop is attributed to price rise by the miner upto INR 490/MT from Chattisgarh mines towards Feb'19 end.
Few major Raipur based sponge manufacturers were learned to have booked pellet from Raigarh and Bilaspur amid price competitiveness.
NMDC supplied 427 (1.64 MnT) rakes of iron ore for the month of Mar'19, up 11% against 386 (1.49 MnT) rakes a month before in Feb'19.
JSW Steel, Dolvi increased procurement by 62% in Mar'19
JSW Steel (Dolvi) sourcing from NMDC recorded at 73 rakes in Mar'19, up 62% as against 45 rakes a month before.
The procurement by units outside C.G has witnessed 31% rise on monthly basis to 363 rakes in Mar'19 as against 278 rakes in Feb'19.
RINL procurement from NMDC Bailadila mines increased 21% on monthly basis to 201 rakes as compared to Feb'19 procurement at 166 rakes.
KIOCL has also increased its sourcing sharply in Mar'19 to 57 rakes compared to 45 iron ore rakes from NMDC in Feb'19.
NMDC movement for exports dropped 59% in Mar'19
NMDC's movement for export of iron ore for the month of Mar'19 witnessed fall of 59% to 16 rakes as compared to 39 rakes a month before.
