India: NMDC Iron Ore Rake Movement Up 15% in Nov'19

NMDC (Chhattisgarh) supplied a total 348 rakes (1.34 MnT) of iron ore in the month of Nov'19, up 15% against 303 rakes (1.17 MnT) a month before in Oct'19, according to railway movement data maintained with SteelMint.
Chhattisgarh based steel plants increased sourcing from NMDC (C.G.) by 13% from 40 rakes (equivalent to 154,000 MT) in Oct'19 to 45 rakes (173,250 MT) in Nov'19 (This does not include movement through road). NMDC Ltd towards mid Nov'19 announced a cut in its iron ore prices. Prices of iron ore fines and lumps reduced by INR 100/MT and in DR-CLO price cut by INR 120/MT and ROM by INR 90/MT.
The state government of Chhattisgarh recently announced to extend the iron ore mining lease of NMDC in Dantewada district. This decision relieved the public sector mining giants as it was set to expire in March 2020. CM Bhupesh Baghel approved to extend the mining lease of NMDC after NMDC'S CMD Baijendra Kumar agreed to release INR 600 crore to the government for renewal. Two mine complexes are located in Dantewada (Chhattisgarh) namely Bailadila Iron Ore Mine, Kirandul Complex and Bailadila Iron Ore Mine, Bacheli Complex with yearly production of around 23 MnT.
NMDC's supplies to outside state-based units up M-o-M:
The procurement by outside C.G based units increased for the month by 14% in Nov'19 to 246 rakes (0.95 MnT) as against 216 rakes (0.83 MnT) in Oct'19.
RINL's procurement from NMDC Bailadila mines marked slight increase on a monthly basis to 145 rakes as compared to Oct'19 procurement at 144 rakes.
JSW Steel (Dolvi) sourcing from NMDC recorded significant rise at 51 rakes in Nov'19, against 22 rakes a month before.
KIOCL sourcing from NMDC (C.G) decreased to 32 rakes in Nov'19 against 39 rakes in Oct'19.
Movement for exports up 21% in Nov '19:
NMDC's movement of iron ore export for the month of Nov'19 witnessed 21% rise to 57 rakes as compared to 47 rakes in Oct '19.
