India: NMDC iron ore rake movement from Chhattisgarh mines up 32% in Nov'20

NMDC has supplied a total of 418 rakes (1.61 mn t) of iron ore from its Chhattisgarh mines in the month of Nov'20, up 32% m-o-m. The dispatches are higher against 316 rakes (1.22 mn t) in Oct'20, according to railway movement data maintained with SteelMint.

NMDC's iron ore rake movement from its Chhattisgarh mines to state-based steel units has moved up 35% to 77 rakes (0.30 mn t) in Nov'20 compared to 57 rakes (0.22 mn t) a month ago, as per railway movement data maintained with SteelMint. State based units have been actively procuring NMDC material due to limited supplies from Odisha and less pellet supplies from Raipur plants due to scheduled maintenance.

NMDC's supplies to outside state-based units up 25% in Oct'20:

The procurement by outside C.G based units picked for the month in Nov'20 to 271 rakes (about 1.04 mn t), against 216 rakes a month ago.

RINL's total iron ore procurement stood at 144 rakes for the month as against 135 rakes a month ago. It may be noted that its third blast furnace which was reignited on mid-Oct'20, hence the increase in iron ore procurement.

JSW Steel, Dolvi procurement from NMDC picked up sharply to 48 rakes as compared to 23 rakes in Oct'20.

Movement for exports increased 63% to 70 rakes in Nov'20 against 43 rakes in Oct'20.
