India: NMDC Iron Ore Production Up 28%; Sales Up 24% in Dec'17

NMDC - India's largest iron ore miner recorded an increase in monthly production of iron ore by 28% in Dec'17 to 3.37 MnT as against 2.63 MnT in Nov'17. Out of the total 3.37 MnT iron ore produced in Dec'17, 2.16 MnT was contributed by NMDC Bailadila mines, Chhattisgarh, up 28% M-o-M, while the rest 1.21 MnT was produced from Karnataka mines, up 29% M-o-M.

So far in FY18 (Apr-Dec'17) NMDC's iron ore production has been recorded at 24.23 MnT. Out of which 15.16 MnT was produced in Chhattisgarh and rest9.07 MnT from Karnataka.

In Q3 FY18, NMDC iron ore production stood at 8.58 MnT compared to 7.13 MnT in the previous quarter. Thus on a quarterly basis, miner's iron ore production has increased by20%. However, in Q3 FY17, NMDC's iron ore output was recorded at 9.7 MnT.

NMDC iron ore sales Up 24% M-o-M in Dec'17- NMDC witnessed an increase in sales of iron ore by 24% M-o-M to 3.23 in Dec'17 compared to 2.61 MnT in Nov'17. Iron ore sales from Chhattisgarh mines were recorded at 1.96 MnT (up by 29% M-o-M) and sales from Karnataka stood at 1.27 MnT (up by 17%) in Dec'17.

In Q3 FY18, NMDC's iron ore sales stood at8.03 MnT compared to 8.4 MnT in Q2FY18. In Q3 FY17, NMDC's iron ore sales were recorded at 10 MnT.

So far in FY18 (Apr-Dec'17) NMDC's iron ore sales have been recorded at 25.64 MnT.Out of which sales from CG mines were recorded at16.02 MnT and that from Karnataka stood at 9.62 MnT.
