India: NMDC hikes pellet offer by INR 500/t ($7) in Karnataka

NMDC has increased pellet price by INR 500/t for Aug'20 from its Donimalai pellet plant in Karnataka. Current offers for Fe 64% pellets are at INR 6,000/t (FOT basis) for 30,000 t on advance payment basis. The price validity is till 20th Aug'20. Rake loading can be arranged at an extra cost of INR 105/t (including GST).

Prior to this, the company had the last floated pellet offer of INR 5,500/t (FoT basis) in Jul'20.

NMDC is operating a 1.2 MnT pa capacity pellet plant located at Donimalai, Karnataka.

SteelMint's assessment for Bellary (southern India) based merchant market increased by around INR 900-1,200/t m-o-m for Fe 63/64% grade pellet at currently stands around INR 6,600-6,900/t (ex-plant, GST extra). Owing to the significant hike in sponge offers and shortage of raw material amid monsoons, pellet offers have witnessed an increase.

In addition to it, NMDC has raised iron ore prices by around INR 200/t this month for Karnataka iron ore e-auctions.
