India: MMTC Global Tender for Import of Scrap

MMTC, a leading international trading company in India and one of the major global players in minerals trade, has issued a tender for import of 15,000 MT Shredded scrap in bulk conforming to US ISRI code 211.
Eligibility Criteria:
oThe supplier shall be with past experience engaged in supply/export of Shredded scrap at Indian ports. Tender should have also successfully supplied a minimum of 15,000 MT of Non-Alloy Steel Melting scrap (Shredded Scrap) as per US ISRI code 211, executed through a single or multiple order in any one of the last three calendar year i.e.2014-2017.
oIndian Central PSU trading house, having due authorization from the overseas scrap suppliers may also be considered eligible for participation.
Shipment and Delivery: Shipment shall be in a single lot of 15,000 MT tentatively in March-April, 2018 at any one port i.e Mormugao Port, Goa/ Kandla Port/ Vizag Port.
Interested bidders can submit their bids till 16 Mar'18 at 14:30 hrs and techno-commercial bids will open on same day at 14:45 hrs.

Global scrap prices move up
Imported scrap prices have increased amid shortage. US origin HMS (80:20) is assessed at USD 362/MT, CFR Turkey. Shredded scrap offers to India were heard in the range of USD 390-395/MT, CFR India.
