The government of Karnataka's recent notification declared JSW Steel as the preferred bidder for Vyasanakere Iron Ore Block which was held on 28 March, 2023. The final price offer for the mine is 114.30%.
Details of block
The Vyasanakere Iron Ore Block is situated in Hosapete, Vijayanagara, and is spread across a total area of 405.40 Ha, out of which 15.40 Ha is mineralised area and 390.00 Ha is non-mineralised area.
The mine has total geological resources of 27.22 million tonne (mnt) of iron ore of various grades. Details are as follows:
- Massive iron ore of 21.12 mnt with an average grade of Fe65.42%
- Laminated iron ore of 2.43 mnt with an average grade of Fe57.40%
- Siliceous iron ore of 3.67 mnt with an average grade of Fe40.39%.
