India: Iron Ore Production Crossed 190 MnT in FY17

World's 4th largest iron ore producer - India observed significant growth in iron ore production last fiscal. India's iron ore output witnessed significant augmentation inFY17 amid considerable increase in iron ore output from states likely - Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Goa.
According to the recently released data by Ministry of Mines, Govt. of India, India's iron ore production in Mar'17 was recorded at 19.6 MnT against 18.5 MnT in Feb'17. Thus, on monthly premises India's iron ore production has shown increase of 6%.
On yearly basis, (i.e. compared to Mar'16), Indian iron ore production has exhibited growth of 12%.
In FY17, India's iron ore production summed up to 190.8 MnT, up 22% Y-o-Y. In FY16, country's iron ore output stood at 155.9 MnT.
Odisha's iron ore output hit all time high in FY17
Odisha is India's largest iron ore producing state which contributes to 50% in country's ore output. Odisha's iron ore production climbed to all time high in FY17. According to provisional data of Odisha govt. Maintained with SteelMint, the output (comprising of lump, fines & concentrate) increased from 75.75 MnT in FY16 to 94.17 MnT in FY17.
NMDC's iron ore production jumped 19% Y-o-Y
Iron ore production by India's single largest iron ore producer-National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) was recorded at 34.03 MnT in FY17 against 28.58 MnT in FY16.
