The Goa government will conduct the 29th e-auction of iron ore at different locations in the state. The iron ore that is being auctioned will be in the form of fines, lumps and ROM or a mixture of the same. The auction will be held on 4,5 and 6 October, 2023.
The auction will take place on the MSTC platform and the winning bidder will be declared the successful bidder by the DMG on the same platform. As per DMG, only an end-user or an exporter is eligible to participate in the e-auction.
The last date for self-assessment of quality and quantity of iron ore is 25 September.
In the last auction conducted on 17-19 May for 273,478 tonnes (t) of iron ore (Fe 36.85-51.5%) around 257,964 t was booked. Out of the booked quantity, 165,527 t were fines, 85,835 t ROM and 6,602 t lumps.
Vedanta had emerged as the largest buyer with around 140,000 t followed by Blue Globe Export Pvt Ltd, which had booked around 50,000 t.
