India: Finish Long Production Surge by 7% in Jan'18

As per the recent data released by Joint Plant Committee, Finish long (Bar & rods and Structures) steel production in India by both large and medium/small scale producers stood at 3.98 MnT in Jan 2018.
The production surged up by 2.57% Y-o-Y in Jan'18 against 3.88 MnT in Jan'17. Further, on monthly basis i:e; Jan'18 it gains by around 7% with 3.98 MnT compared with 3.72 MnT in Dec'17.
On monthly analysis in Jan'18, Finish long production by the large scale makers i:e; SAIL registered around 0.41 MnT (7.89%) followed by RINL 0.38 MnT (5.56%), JSW 0.22 MnT (0%), Tata Steel 0.26 MnT (36.84%) and JSPL 0.12 MnT (20%). The changes in production are compared with Dec'17 figures.
While, Tata Steel production gain significant changes and proportionate reached to around 37% M-o-M basis and production contribution in the month of Jan'18 around 7%.
There could have been few factors lead to surged production is better realization and enhanced domestic & export demand. Since the Chinese steel supply less in the global market, Indian steel demand has ramp up globally.
