India: Ferro Silicon Producers Raise Offers Amid Limited Stock Availability
...
The Indian Ferro Silicon market is facing a shortage of material as most of the producers are overbooked and are unable to deliver until February. Producers are also witnessing a good number of inquiries from the export market but they have no material to cater to the demand right now. Producers in the Northeast of India are also worried about the tight supply of raw material for producing Ferro Silicon. Charcoal availability is an issue the Ferro Silicon producers are facing.
In the domestic market, the offer prices for Bhutanese Ferro Silicon increased to INR 76,000- 77,000/MT Ex-plant for 70% grade. Meanwhile, offers from Guwahati based producers are at INR 75,000- 77,000/MT Ex-plant. Export prices from India are at USD 1060/MT. Chinese Ferro Silicon production has been reduced due to winters; this has increased the inquiries from the export market. Meanwhile, prices for Russian Ferro Silicon remained stable and Chinese Ferro Silicon went down by USD 20/MT W-o-W to USD 1075/MT FOB China.
On the future outlook, the Ferro Silicon prices may increase further and the supply-demand dynamics will govern the future market.
