India: Ferro Chrome Exports Remains Invariable Y-o-Y in CY18

Indian Ferro Chrome Exports inched down from 819,314MT in CY 17 to 813,375MT in CY18 which accounted for 0.72% downfall. However, Exports in the month of December increased by 25.12% from 62,292MT in Nov'18 to 77,942MT in Dec'18.

Exports were highest in the month of May in CY18. However, the exports were minimum at October. China, South Korea, Taiwan and Japan remained the top four countries to import Indian Ferro Chrome with 30%, 29%, 12% and 9% shares in the total exports respectively. Meanwhile, rest of the importing countries accounted for 20% of the total export shares. China increased there imports of Indian Ferro Chrome in Dec'18 M-o-M but apparently the imports fell Y-o-Y by 16.79%. Similarly, Imports from Taiwan increased in M-o-M basis but fell by 19.19% Y-o-Y in CY18. South Korean imports from India rose in Dec'18 by 9.67% M-o-M and 19.37% Y-o-Y in CY18. Japanese imports fell significantly in Dec'18 from 5,600MT in Nov'18 to 2,733MT in Dec'18 which accounted for 51.20% fall. However, the imports increased by 1.09% in CY18 as compared to CY17.

In Dec'18, imports of Indian Ferro Chrome significantly increased for Mexico, Italy and United States by 94.42%, 40.27% and 34.90% respectively. Meanwhile, a major decrease in Indian Ferro Chrome Imports were noticed from Thailand and Netherlands by 73.66% and 63.87% respectively. In CY'18, the imports of Indian Ferro Chrome increased significantly for Netherlands and Italy by 47.75% and 37.85% respectively.
