India: Essar's New Deep Draft Terminal at Salaya and Vizag Port

Essar Port Limited (EPL) has developed two new terminals at Salaya and Vizag Port. These terminals will increase Essar's cargo handling capacity, reduce discharging time and helps EPL to increase revenue by 30% in FY19.

EPL now has deep draft facility at Salaya and Vizag terminal of 14 Meter and 18 Meter respectively; this helps to berth mini cape and cape size vessels at the port. Now Vizag port terminal can also handles 200,000 MT capesize vessels.

EPL invested 2,000 Cr at Salaya port, first deep draft terminal at Saurastra region, can handle vessel of 105,000 MT. 75,000 MT cargo can be discharge in one working day, terminal also facilitated with 5,000 TPH conveyor system.

Essar invested 830 Cr for expansion of Esaar Vizag Terminal ( EVITL), helps to increase cargo handling capacity from 12.5 to 23 MTPA, loading capacity will increase from 70,000 MT to 120,000 MTPD.

Essar new terminal will also decrease the freight cost of cargo with fast loading and discharging of vessels at the terminal

In Dec'17 two Coal vessel of Esaar power from Indonesia discharged at Salaya port total cargo was about 95,200 MT.

Essar Coastal and import movement of cargo from Vizag port up by 5.3% in 2017(Y-o-Y) against 6.22 MnT in 2016 and the cargo movement is expected to increase in this year.
