India: Demand and Supply for Ferro Silicon Balanced, Pricing Remains Unchanged

Ferro Silicon market sees no changes in terms of prices, with sources continuing to cite a moderately traded market.

Ferro Silicon prices hold on, but a bearish sentiment is creeping in to the Ferro Silicon market on account of inactivity, exerting pressure on sellers to cut prices.

The current price of ferro silicon grade 70-75% is unchanged at around INR 71,000/MT (Ex-Bhutan) and INR 69,500-70,000/MT (Ex-Guwahati).

There is an absence of keen interest in procuring Ferro Silicon, due to the underlying downtrend prevailing in the Indian steel industry.

"Currently there is limited supply in the open market, but demand from steel mills is also low. Hence, prices have been stable for a long time," said a producer source from Bhutan.

The current export price also reflect similarity to domestic price trend and remains unchanged at USD 1,085/MT (FOB Kolkata).
