Coal India Limited (CIL), the world's largest coal producer and a Maharatna company, has released its provisional production and offtake performance data for November 2024. Notably, the data indicates that in April-November, 2024, cumulative production touched 471 million tonnes (mnt), a slight 2.4% y-o-y rise.
For the April-November period, cumulative coal offtake amounted to 492.6 mnt, a slight y-o-y increase of 1.5%. This growth reflects the stability in CIL's supply.
Nov'24 highlights
In November 2024, CIL produced 67.2 mnt of coal, marking a modest y-o-y rise of 1.7% compared to November 2023.
CIL's coal dispatches in November 2024 totalled 63 mnt, a slight increase of 0.03% compared to the same month last year. Offtake was lower in October amidst demand fluctuations and transportation bottlenecks within the market.
CIL has set a production target of 838 mnt for FY'25.
