India: Bids in SAIL's auction of defective steel rise by INR 700/t

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) conducted an auction from its Central India based Bhilai Steel Plant for defective steel products on 19 Mar '21.The bid prices for bloom up by INR 700/t against the previous auction conducted on 10 Mar'21.

A total quantity of 15,095.88 t of defective steel was put up for auction, in which 87.42% material was sold out and 1,898 t remained unsold.

Billet price was fetched at around INR 38,550/t and Blooms at INR 33,200/t exw.

Next BSP defective steel auction is schedule on 30 Mar'21.

SteelMint's billet index stood at (Exw Raipur) = Rs 38,500(-250) on 19 Mar'21.
