The Ministry of Coal has received an overwhelming response to the 10th round of commercial coal mine auctions, with 44 bids submitted in physical form. This robust participation reflects the sustained interest of stakeholders in India's commercial coal mine auctions.
Launched on 21 June 2024, the 10th round offered 67 coal mines for commercial mining. The auction process attracted significant interest from small- and medium-sized players, underscoring its inclusive nature. This broad participation highlights the positive reception of reforms in the sector, which have encouraged competition across companies of varying sizes.
The bid submission phase officially closed on 18 October, 2024. Both online and physical bids will be opened on 21 October 21, in the presence of the bidders, ensuring transparency and fairness throughout the evaluation process.
