Imported Scrap Market in Bangladesh Observes Less Trades

Imported scrap offers to Bangladesh increased against last week on account of global price uptrend. However, trades remain very limited availability of cheaper local scrap.

Market sources mentioned that there are not much offers for Shredded scrap available at the moment in Bangladesh. SteelMint's price assessment for containerized shredded scrap is currently seen in the range of USD 318-320/MT, CFR Chittagong up by USD 10-15/MT from the last week's report, while buyers are less interested at these offers.

HMS scrap trades too remained slow. However, offers for HMS 1 were reported at around USD 300/MT CFR Chittagong. Few offers were also reported at a low level at around USD 295-300/MT, CFR level, with no inquiries. P&S scrap offers remain stable at around USD 310/MT CFR Chittagong.

Currently, the offers for shipyard scrap are at BDT 30000- 30500/MT ex Chittagong.
