IIOPDS : OMC Eyes 20 MnT Iron Ore Output in FY21 With Five New Mines

Odisha's state owned miner - Odisha Mining Corp ( OMC) is planning to ramp up its iron ore production to 20 MnT in FY21 against production of 13.5 MnT in FY20, said Mr Dillip Kumar Mohanty, CGM (Mining) OMC Ltd. Also the company eyes more than 30 MnT iron ore output by FY25.

OMC has planned to start 5 new mines in Odisha's Joda circle in FY21, most of the mines are in advanced stage of statutory clearances. The name of the mines are - Tiring Pahar, Mahaparbat, Khandbandh, Banspani and Dabuna. Tiring Pahar with EC limit of 0.328 MnT pa and is expected to start operations from Apr'20 onwards.

OMC contributes a major share of it's supplies to small players. 60% of sales goes to small players whose overall requirement is less than 2lakh tonnes per annum.
