Imports of copper products into Germany were recorded at 189,979 tonnes (t) in November 2022, a decrease of 10% m-o-m as against 210,072 t in October, as per data maintained with SteelMint. Imports declined as the country's manufacturing index went up m-o-m in Nov'22.
Out of the total imports, ores/concentrates were at 69,924 t (down by 36%), semi-finished products at 40,970 t (up by 26%), finished products at 25,261 t (up by 13%), and scrap at 53,824 t (up by 36%).
The country's copper imports edged up by 2% y-o-y in November 2022 as compared to 186,340 t in the corresponding month last year.

- Imports from Chile fall: Imports from Chile stood at 21,703 t in November, down by 35% m-o-m compared to 33,344 t in October. The volumes boosted drastically by 14,273% y-o-y from 151 t in November 2021.
- Imports from Poland up: Poland supplied 16,149 t of copper products to Germany in November, a rise of 27% m-o-m as against 12,730 t in the previous month. Shipments were also up by 20% y-o-y from 13,500 t in November 2021.
- Imports from Netherlands increase: Germany imported 12,974 t from the Netherlands in November, higher by 54% m-o-m from 8,421 t in October. The volumes were also up by 6% y-o-y compared to 12,219 t in November 2021.
- Imports from Chile fall: Imports from Chile stood at 21,703 t in November, down by 35% m-o-m compared to 33,344 t in October. The volumes boosted drastically by 14,273% y-o-y from 151 t in November 2021.
