Global scrap recycler based out of UK, European Metal Recycling (EMR) has been cut down their operation over the recent days due to the sharp escalation of covid-19 outbreak in the region. The recycler has now closed several of its operational sites around the country and reduced its workforce at the other locations which are operational as of yet..
Out of the total 72 sites that EMR operates in the country, the company will continue its operations at just 26 of these locations, only in a limited capacity, while suppliers can schedule appointments to deliver materials, as effective from yesterday. The deep-sea ferrous dock locations at Tyne, Liverpool and Tilbury continue to remain open.
EMR is a global leader in metal recycling. Company's core business is the recycling of scrap metal from a range of sources such as End-of-Life vehicles, consumer products, industry, construction and demolition. This results in sales of recycled commodities of around 10 MnT a year.
