Demand for scrapped ships improves in Pakistan, offers rise by $5/LT

In Pakistan, Gadani buyers' grabbed a number of impressive sales of scrapped ships in the last week. The prices in Gadani port for Containers reached at $335/LT, Dry Bulk at $315/LT & Tankers at $325/LT. Offers rise by $5/LT, w-o-w.

Deals

  • BOLD VOYAGER (8,150 LDT), a salt carrying Bulkerat $340/LT.

  • ELIT (4,360 LDT), a General Cargo at $333/LT.

  • EM OINOUSSES (11,440 LDT), a Container at $344/LT.

  • KUO HSIUNG (5,822 LDT), a Container at $340/LT.

The total tonnage in Gadani port during last week stood at 39,413 LDT; two containers & one bulk carrier reported in the port namely Port Klang, SM Vancouver & Opal Fortune.

India & Bangladesh

  • In India, the prices in Alang port stood at $310/LT for Containers, $290/LT for Dry bulk and $300/LT for Tanker, offers increased by $5/LT w-o-w. The total tonnage reported last week in the Alang port was at 239,462 LDT.

  • The prices in Chattogram port, Bangladesh for containers were assessed at $320/LT, Dry Bulk at $300/LT & Tankers at $310/LT. The total tonnage reported last week in the port was 124,773 LDT.
