Chinese Steel Exports Drop Lowest Since Feb'14

China finished steel exports dropped significantly by 18% on monthly basis and stood at 5.14 MnT in Sept'17 against 6.3 MnT in Aug'17.

This is China's monthly lowest steel export volumes since Feb'14.

However yearly basis, China's steel exports reduced by 42% in Sept'17 in contrast to Sept'16.

In the tenure of first nine months (Jan-Sept) of CY17 China's steel exports tumbled by 29% and stood at 60.41 MnT, against 84.95 MnT in the similar time-frame of the previous year.

Strong Domestic Demand lead to fall in export volumes -
The demand for finished steel supported the higher domestic prices in China resulting in fall in export volumes.

Chinese steel imports stable on monthly basis -
On monthly basis nation's flat steel imports remained stable at 1.24 Mnt in September'17 compared to 1.25 Mnt in Aug'17.
