China's Shagang Plans to Put a Blast Furnace and other Facilities under Maintenance

Jiangsu-based Shagang Group said today that it will put one of its 480 m3 blast furnace on care and maintenance for 16 days. This will affect daily output of approximately 1,500 MT pig iron, cumulatively affecting 24,000 MT output of the same in 16 days.
The company also plans to put other small furnaces and facilities under maintenance:
-- BOF is scheduled to undergo maintenance for 16 days, affecting approximately 5,000 MT daily output of crude steel, and a total of 80,000 MT of crude steel output during the period.
-- EAF will be put on maintenance for 30 days, which would affect approximately 3,000 MT of daily crude steel output, and cumulatively affecting 90,000 MT of monthly crude steel output.
-- In addition, one wire-rod production line is scheduled to go for maintenance for 15 days, affecting daily output of 2,000 MT and a cumulative reduction of 30,000 MT wire rod output in total.
-- Medium plate lines will be on maintenance for 16 days, affecting daily output of 4,000 MT and cumulative reduction of 64,000 MT in total.
