China's ferro silicon prices remain stable amid cautious market outlook

The price for ferro silicon with 72% silicon remained firm at RMB 6,800/t ($928/t) ex-factory (tax acceptance). For ferro silicon with 75% silicon content, the price stands at RMB 7,270/t ($993/t) ex-factory. The ferro silicon market stayed flat this week with not much fluctuation seen.

Ferro silicon futures rose slightly, but actual buying and selling was not very active. Traders stayed cautious about the market outlook.

In the short term, the ferro silicon market will probably stay flat and at similar levels. Some fluctuation can be seen in prices depending on the steel industry outlook.

Outlook

Factors to watch out for are supply and demand of silicon steel and prices of raw materials. In the long run, things should stabilise, and the price of ferro silicon will probably stay steady.
