China's aluminum, alumina prices witness an upward trend

Aluminum and alumina prices in China showed a significant upward correction of late. China's alumina spot price rose by RMB 6/t ($0.83/t) to reach RMB 2,893/t ($402/t). In specific regions, alumina spot prices experienced even higher hikes, with Shandong and Shanxi seeing spikes of RMB 10/t ($1/t) to rise to close to RMB 2,855/t ($397/t) and RMB 2,910/t ($405/t), respectively.

In Henan, alumina spot prices increased by RMB 5/t ($0.7/t), settling at RMB 2,915/t ($405/t). The Australian alumina FOB price also witnessed a rise of RMB 28.57/t ($4/t), reaching RMB 2,421.07/t ($337/t)

China's aluminum ingot price rose by RMB 80/t ($11/t) to RMB 18,530/t ($2,579/t), with the average range between RMB 18,510 ($2,576/t) and RMB 18,550/t ($2,582/t). Major provinces including Gongyi, Wuxi, Hangzhou, Shenyang and Linyi witnessed price surges of RMB 80/t ($11/t). Meanwhile, Foshan saw a rise of RMB 60/t ($8/t). In Tianjin prices increased by RMB 50/t ($7/t), while in Chongqing prices went up by RMB 40/t ($5/t).

Low-carbon aluminum prices also increased by RMB 52/t ($7/t), settling at RMB 19,228/t ($2,679/t). High-purity aluminum (99.99%) and high-purity aluminum (99.996%) prices rose by RMB 100/t ($14/t) to close at RMB 26,000/t ($3,620/t) and RMB 27,000/t ($3,759/t), respectively.

Aluminum alloy (A356) and aluminum alloy (A360) prices escalated by RMB 100/t ($14/t), while aluminum alloy (ADC12) increased by RMB 50/t ($7/t). China's aluminum powder price gained RMB 0.10/kg ($0.01/kg), closing at RMB 20.30/kg ($3/kg), with average prices ranging between RMB 20.20/kg ($3/kg) and RMB 20.40/kg ($3/kg).
