China: Steel inventory rises at CISA mills in early June'23

Steel inventory of China Iron and Steel Association (CISA)-affiliated mills increased by 0.18 million tonnes (mnt) or 1.18% to 15.80 million tonnes (mnt) in early June 2023 as compared with end-May 2023.

Inventory fell by 1.80 mnt or 10.26% as against early May 2023 and by 2.74 mnt or 14.79% y-o-y.

Crude steel production

The average daily crude steel output of CISA-affiliated mills stood at 2.23 mnt in early June 2023, up 6.70% from end-May. Output declined by 2.52% y-o-y.

The average daily finished steel output stood at 2.06 mnt, down by 4.23% from end-May. Production registered a fall of 4.99% y-o-y.

The average daily pig iron output stood at 2 mnt in early June 2023, up by 3.56% as compared with early May 2023 and down by 2.37% y-o-y.
