China: Mills' daily crude steel output in last 10 days of Sept'21 drops 11%

The total production of crude steel of key mills covered by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) during the last 10-day period of Sept'21 was at 17.6882 million tonnes (mn t). Pig iron production in this period was at 16.8123 mn t, and finished steel at 18.6408 mn t.

The daily output of crude steel in this period was at 1.7688 mnt, down 11.18% from the level seen in the preceding 10-day period. Pig iron daily output averaged 1.6812 mn t, down 5.81% compared to the preceding 10-day period while the daily output of finished steel was 1.8641 mn t, down 3.37% from the preceding 10-day period.

On a m-o-m basis, the average daily crude steel output in September was at 1.9357 mn t, down 7.81% compared to August. Pig iron's September daily average output, at 1.7582 mn t, saw a drop of 5.53% m-o-m and finished steel, at 1.9107 mn t, was down 6.71% m-o-m.
