China: Low-carbon aluminium, A00 ingot prices edge down

The spot price of aluminium dropped by RMB 170/t to RMB 18,370/t on 22 May, 2023. The average price range for aluminium is between RMB 18,350/t and RMB 18,390/t. Premiums have varied between RMB 170/t and RMB 130/t.

Aluminium prices in eight major provinces of China have witnessed a downward trend, with the steepest decrease observed in Hangzhou and Wuxi by RMB 220/t and RMB 190/t, respectively, resulting in prices dropping to RMB 18,350/t in both provinces. Foshan and Shenyang recorded a decline of RMB 180/t, with prices settling at RMB 18,340/t and RMB 18,410/t, respectively.

Gongyi saw a reduction of RMB 150/t to RMB 18,240/t. In Linyi, prices dropped by RMB 120/t to RMB 18,420/t whereas in Tianjin prices fell by RMB 100/t to RMB 18,390/t.

The domestic price of low-carbon aluminium has dropped by RMB 189/t, reaching RMB 18,933/t.

High-purity aluminium (99.99%) and high-purity aluminium (99.996%) prices decreased by RMB 200/t, settling at RMB 25,900/t and RMB 26,900/t, respectively.

Prices of aluminium alloy (A356) witnessed a significant decline of RMB 150/t, closing at RMB 19,200/t. The price of aluminium alloy (A360) also fell to RMB 19,450/t, while prices of aluminium alloy (ADC12) dipped by RMB 100/t, reaching RMB 18,600/t.

Prices of aluminium powder in China decreased by RMB 0.20/kg, settling at a closing price of RMB 20.20/t. The average price range is between RMB 20.10/kg and RMB 20.30/kg.
