China Issues 7th Batch of Steel Scrap Import Quotas

The Solid Waste & Chemicals Management Centre of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, China published the seventh batch of waste import quotas for 2020, as per the latest BIR reports published yesterday. This is the third-largest bulk import reported after over three weeks as prior to this, the sixth batch's report was published on 24th April'20.

According to the report, the batch allows a total of just 310 MT of steel scrap, a very small ratio among other types of scrap including 10,423 tonnes of copper scrap, 1,480 tonnes of aluminium scrap and 55,810 tonnes of paper scrap registered in the list to enter china.

Among the importers, the company 'Taizhou Yize Metal Products Co., Ltd.' was only the importer of steel scrap, the bulk vessel comprising of 310 MT of steel scrap. This bulk cargo will berth at Beilun port area of Ningbo port in China.
