China Crude Steel Output Fell Marginally in May'17

China-world's largest crude steel producer has witnessed marginal decline in its crude steel output on monthly premises in May'17.
According to recent data released by National Bureau of Statistics, China's crude steel output in May'17 fell from 72.78 MnT in Apr'17 to 72.26 MnT in May'17, down 0.7% M-o-M. However crude steel production was up by 2.4%,Y-o-Y basis against 70.5 MnT in May'16.
In first five months of CY17 (Jan-May'17) nation's crude steel output increased by 3.3% to 343.16 MnT as compared to 332.25 MnT in similar time frame of previous year.
Chinese domestic flat steel prices in May'17 - Domestic HRC prices in northern China was assessed at RMB 3,140-3,170/MT ex-works in beginning of May'17 which declined to RMB 2,950/MT in 1st week of May'17 and again increased to RMB 3,220/MT ex-works by month end.
China world's largest steel producer has recorded crude steel production of 808.36 MnT in CY16.
