China Crude ROM Production Up 3% M-o-M in Sept'17

China, the world's largest iron ore consumer, produced 119.13 MnT crude ROM (Run-of-mine) up 3% M-o-M in Sept'17 against 115.49 MnT in Aug'17. On the yearly basis production of China's crude iron ore up marginally by 0.2% compared to 118.9 MnT in the same month last year.

In the first nine months of CY'17 crude iron ore production up 5% to 982.65 MnT compared to 940 MnT in the same period last year.

Global iron ore prices were up last month. In Sept''17, the monthly average iron ore prices for Fe 62% fines down by USD 5/MT and were registered at USD 71/MT, CFR China against USD 76/MT, CFR China in Aug'17. China, the world's largest importer of iron ore, has imported 103 MnT iron ore in Sept'17. The country's iron ore imports have been up 16% M-o-M against 88.66 MnT in Aug'17.
