China's domestically produced coking coal prices continued to increase stupendously in the first half of August, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on 16 Aug'21.
The specific price changes of various coal types are enumerated as follows:
The price of anthracite (washed block, volatile content <=8%) is 1447.1 CNY/t, an increase of 47.1 CNY/t or 3.4%.
The price of ordinary blended coal (a blend of Shanxi pulverized coal and lump coal, with a calorific value of 4500 kcal) is 775 CNY/t, an increase of 1.9 CNY/t or 0.2%.
The price of Shanxi Dacheng (a better-quality blended coal with a calorific value of 5000 kcal) is 865 CNY/t, an increase of 1.9 CNY/t or 0.2%.
The price of Shanxi Youmix (high-quality blended coal with a calorific value of 5500 kcal) is 945 CNY/t, an increase of 1.9 CNY/t or 0.2%.
The price of Datong blended coal (blended coal produced in Datong, with a calorific value of 5800 kcal) is 970 CNY/t, an increase of 1.9 CNY/t or 0.2%.
The price of coking coal (main coking coal, sulfur content <1%) is 2,300 CNY/t, an increase of 118.7 CNY/t or 5.4%.
The above data shows that the domestic coking coal prices continued to rise sharply in the first ten days of August, while the increase in thermal coal prices narrowed, and the price of anthracite rebounded.
In addition, the domestic metallurgical coke (secondary metallurgical coke) price was 2647.6 CNY/t in the first ten days of August, an increase of 140.8 CNY/t or 5.6%.
