Chile Iron Ore Exports Up 41% in Mar'17

Trade statistics released by one of the largest iron ore exporters Chile customs show that the iron ore exports from the country have seen an increase of 41% M-o-M. The country exported around 1.33 MnT iron ore in Mar'17 against 0.94 MnT in Feb'17.
Exports have dropped by 101% Y-o-Y as in Mar'16; the country exported 0.66 MnT iron ore. For the CY'17 Q1 the country exported 3.70 MnT iron ore up 31% against 2.83 MnT in Q1 CY'16. The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps and fines) export in Mar'17 were registered at 0.92 MnT up 15% M-o-M and 39% Y-o-Y compared to Mar'16 which stood at 0.80 MnT in Feb'17 and 0.66 MnT in Mar'16.
The agglomerated iron ore (lumps and fines) export in Mar'17 were registered at 0.41 MnT up 182% M-o-M, which stood at 0.15 MnT in Feb'17, no agglomerated iron ore (lumps and fines) exported Mar'16.
Chile chiefly exports the iron ore to China, Japan and Republic of Korea China was the largest buyer with 69% share at 0.92 MnT material in Mar'17 with the quantity of 2.72 MnT in 2017 out of total quantity of 3.70 MnT iron ore exports in CY17 by Chile it contributes to 73% for the year.
