Raigarh, Punjipatra based few steel mills have taken steps to resume operations with a limited workforce after getting permission from the state government, as per manufacturers.
The manufacturers from Punjipatra region have reported that they are working hard to restart factories under the rules of Covid-19 lockdown, while restoration of the supply chain will be critical for the economy to get moving again.
Top executives of Ind Synergy plant shared that, "they are working to start their operations in a day or two."
Few integrated mills - namely Shri shyam Ispat (a unit of singhal enterprises), Ajay rolling mill, Raigarh Iron & NR Ispat are already running with Covid-19 rules & regulations. While others are working to resume after 1st or 4th May. However, management of a smooth supply chain remains a big challenge for the mill owners.
The secondary mills in Raigarh produce about 10,000 MT sponge per day, of which about 80-85% is supplied to Raigarh's local market while the remaining is supplied to Raipur & other parts of the country.
