Brazil Steel Exports Statistics - January 2020

Brazil, the world's second-largest Semi finished exporter, has exported about 941,527 MT Semi finished (Slab & Pig iron) in Jan'20, decline by 2.1% M-o-M, as per custom data maintained by SteelMint.
As per assessment, the recent SteelMint's statistics report showed, the Semi finished (Slab & Pig iron) exports decline by 35% to United States & 57% to China (M-o-M) in Jan'20.
During Jan'20, the most favorable export destination of Brazilian Pig iron was - Peru (44,940 MT), Thailand (41,002 MT) & Mexico (31,117 MT). And for Slab it was United States (367,623 MT), Canada (119,359 MT) & Turkey (52,947 MT).
In CY19, the crude steel production of Brazil was around 31,843,693 MT and in CY18 it was at 34,558,843 MT.
-- Brazil recorded an increase in its monthly iron ore export volumes to 26,786,982 MT in Jan'20, as compared to Dec'19 at 24,674,044 MT.
-- Brazil Ferro Alloy exports are down by 29.7% to 271,235 MT in Jan'20 from 385,929 MT in Dec'19 .
-- In context to Finished steel, the total Flat steel exports stood at 175,526 MT & Long steel at 77,172 MT in Jan'20.
