Brazil Pig Iron Exports Fall by 39% in November

Brazil's pig iron exports decreased by about 39% M-o-M in Nov'18 after hitting 5 months high in Oct'18, according to trade statistics released by Brazilian customs.
In the month of Nov'18, Pig iron exports from Brazil were reported around 121,251 MT as against 200,223 MT in Oct'18, plunged by 39.44% M-o-M.
In Nov'18, United States imports the largest volume of Brazilian pig iron at around 80,404 MT, followed by Taiwan (33,035 MT) & Turkey (2,052 MT). While imports from Netherlands reported approximately nil as against the last month. Further it was also come in line that no major Brazilian pig iron exports were recorded for Italy, Mexico & Argentina.
While in the calendar year of 2018 (Jan-Nov) the Brazil's pig iron exports decline by about 22.84% and are stood at 1,647,513 MT which was 2,135,093 MT during the same period in 2017.
United States was the primary destination of Brazilian Pig iron and recorded at 570,081 MT in the calendar year of 2018 (Jan-Nov), inline - Netherlands (301,497 MT), Taiwan (168,407 MT), Italy (162,905 MT) & Mexico (162,068 MT). And the major export of pig iron were from the ports of Rio De Janeiro (710,194 MT), Vitoria (535,051 MT) & Sao Luis (259,852 MT).
Currently global export prices for basic grade pig Iron is assessed at USD 345-355/MT FoB Brazil & USD 365-370/MT FoB India.
