India's sponge iron prices edged up by INR 100-300/tonne (t) in key locations today on rising steel prices. About 18,000 t of sponge iron transactions were recorded in the country on 8 February compared to 21,800 t on 7 February.

Domestic low-grade iron ore fines (Fe 57%) prices fell by INR 200/t this week in Karnataka's Bellary. BigMint's weekly index for low-grade iron ore fines (Fe 57%) stood at INR 3,600/t ($43/t) ex-mines Bellary.

BigMint's billet index continued to rise by INR 250/t to INR 39,350/t exw-Raipur on 8 February, 2024. About 3,310 t of transactions were recorded on 8 February as against 3,500 t on 7 February.
