BigMint's bi-weekly domestic pellet (Fe63%) index inched down by INR 50/t to INR 9,050/t ($110/t) DAP Raipur on 6 August, 2024 compared to the last assessment on 2 August. A pellet producer from nearby Raipur sold around 30,000 t of pellets (Fe63%) at INR 9,000/t exw in this publishing window.

BigMint's domestic end-cutting scrap index tracking the Mandi Gobindgarh market marginally fell by INR 300/tonne (t) to INR 37,200/t DAP on 6 August, 2024.

Indian sponge iron prices dropped by INR 50-300/tonne (t) in almost all major locations. PDRI prices closed at INR 23,300-26,500/t while CDRI was assessed at INR 25,750-29,800/t. Only 3,900 tonnes (t) of sponge iron transactions were recorded in the country compared to 500 t on 5 August.
