India's sponge iron prices moved up in the range of INR 100-400/t in key locations. PDRI prices closed at a range of INR 25,000-27,600/t and CDRI prices at INR 26,500-31,300/t. About 28,000 t of sponge iron transactions were recorded in the country on 29 February compared to 15,900 t on 28 February.

The latest report from BigMint on 29 February, 2024, revealed a price hike in domestic end-cutting scrap at the Mandi Gobindgarh steel market. Prices rose by INR 300/t, reaching INR 38,000/t delivered at the plant.

BigMint's billet index rose by INR 350/t to INR 39,700/t exw-Raipur on 29 February, 2024. About 4,370 t of transactions were recorded on 29 February as against 3,750 t on 28 February.
