Sponge iron prices in India witnessed an overall decrease of INR 50-200/t in major regions. PDRI market prices closed at a range of INR 24,650-27,300/t and CDRI prices, at INR 26,100-31,000/t. About 15,250 t of sponge iron transactions were recorded in the country on 22 February compared to 6,000 t on 21 February.

The domestic steel scrap index (end-cutting) in Mandi Gobindgarh, as reported by BigMint on 22 Feb, 2024, recorded a rise of INR 200/t, settling at INR 37,600/t on a delivered-at-plant (DAP) basis.

BigMint's billet index moved up by INR 50/t to INR 39,300/t exw-Raipur on 22 February, 2024. About 3,650 t of transactions were recorded on 22 February as against 2,500 t on 21 February.
