BigMint's bi-weekly domestic pellet (Fe63%) index inched down by INR 50/t to INR 9,550/t ($114/t) DAP Raipur on 2 July, 2024 compared to the last assessment on 28 June. Around 47,000 t of deals were recorded in this publishing window.

BigMint's domestic end-cutting scrap index for the Mandi Gobindgarh market rose by INR 500/tonne (t) ($6/t) to INR 38,800/t DAP on 2 July, 2024.

India's sponge iron market witnessed a rise in prices in the range of INR 100-500/t. PDRI prices stood at around INR 25,100-27,250/t at close of trading while CDRI prices were at INR 26,800-31,300/t. About 28,610 tonnes (t) of sponge iron transactions were recorded in the country on 2 July compared to 8,800 t on 1 July.
