Indian sponge iron prices dropped by INR 150-300/tonne (t) in all major locations.PDRI market prices closed at a range of INR 24,400-26,900/t and CDRI prices, at INR 26,250-30,500/t.Only 5,150 t of sponge iron transactions were recorded on 18 July compared to 9,700 t on 17 July.

BigMint's domestic end-cutting scrap index tracking the Mandi Gobindgarh market dipped by INR 400/t to INR 38,600/t DAP on 18 July, 2024.

BigMint's billet index decreased further by INR 250/tonne (t) to INR 39,200/t exw Raipur on 18 July, 2024. About 700 t of deals were recorded on 18 July, against 2,900 t on 17 July.
