BigMint's bi-weekly domestic pellet (Fe 63%) index increased by INR 200/t (2.5/t) to INR 9,700/t DAP ($117/t) Raipur on 16 April 2024 compared to the last assessment on 12 April. Deals of around 52,000 t of pellets (Fe 63-63.5%) were concluded at INR 9,550-9,850/t ($115-118/t) DAP Raipur in this publishing window. However, 10,000 t of deals of Fe 66% pellet were also concluded at INR 11,350/t ($135-136/t) DAP Raipur in this publishing window.

BigMint's domestic end-cutting scrap index in the Mandi Gobindgarh steel market decreased by INR 400/tonne (t) to INR 41,200/t DAP on 16 April.

Sponge iron prices in all key domestic markets dropped in the range of INR 100-800/t on 16 April, 2024 due to soft steel demand. Only 6,750 t of sponge iron transactions were recorded in the country on 16 April compared to 32,620 t on 15 April.
