BigMint's billet price index accelerated by INR 1,900/t to touch INR 44,300/t exw Raipur as on 15 April, 2024. Transaction volume was recorded on 15 April at 4,520 t, against 1,480 t on 12 April.

The BigMint's domestic end-cutting scrap index in the Mandi Gobindgarh steel market climbed by INR 1,400/t to INR 41,600/t DAP on 15 April.

India's sponge iron market witnessed a sharp rise in prices ranging from INR 1,200 to INR 2,200/t in almost all principal locations. Only 32,620 t of sponge iron transactions were recorded in the country on 15 April compared to 8,350 t on 12 April.
